Manijeh Razeghi received her Doctorate in Sciences Physiques from Université de Paris in 1980. As Head of the Exploratory Materials Lab at Thomson-CSF, she pioneered advanced epitaxy techniques like MOCVD, MBE, and GasMBE, developing high-purity semiconductor crystals that enabled new physics phenomena in InP, GaAs, GaSb, and AlN quantum structures. She joined Northwestern University in 1991, founding its solid-state engineering programs and directing the Center for Quantum Devices. She is the author of over 1000 papers, 35 book chapters, and 20 books, her research spans optoelectronic quantum devices from UV to THz. She holds numerous patents and prestigious awards, including the 2018 Benjamin Franklin Medal and SWE, IEEE, and MRS Fellow distinctions.
Join our ExpertsIn an era defined by rapid technological advancement and global challenges, the role of materials innovation cannot be overstated. From revolutionizing industries to addressing sustainability, the impact of new materials stretches across every aspect of our lives.
